Maybe we need to step back.

We're actually second from the bottom.

So we're just about the worst out of the EU 27.

So for a country that is second from the bottom of the EU 27, a country facing EU fines for non-compliance, Frank, of up to 26 billion euros, to turn around and say, we've had a great idea.

Guys, how about we undermine the critical climate legislation that we, this government,

signed up to five years ago.

We've had this brilliant idea.

We're doing so badly that we're going to make things a lot worse.

And that's exactly what Jack Chambers has done.

And I'd say as well, I have to hand it to Micheál Martin here because obviously this would be impossible without him.

But they're pushing this very hard, Frank, and it is extraordinary.

Now, if I can take the government's own advisory council, that's the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council, they wrote an entire report around this and they described Ireland backing away from climate action as, quote, a colossal missed opportunity.

And they just pointed out, for example, that the billions and tens of billions of euros that this government appears to be quite happy to shell out

compliments of the general taxpayer to the European Union for non-compliance, simply to keep a number of vested interests on side.

And that's really what's happening here.

And they're going to turn around one of these days and say, we can't believe we're facing these fines and this is terrible.

But what we're doing now and what we're seeing now is a...

an aggressive taking down of regulations.

And the issue here is that if we need critical infrastructure and we need it to be run smoothly.
