No, he just came from Washington.
He wasn't playing on the power play.
He knows what he is and he executes that at a very consistent rate.
And that's just an example.
Because again, the free agency pool isn't
sexy per se with any big names.
And you have to be wary of adding certain big names because we see it year in and year out.
Big name free agency signings a lot of times take anywhere from 12 to 18 months to come to fruition.
That player's changing an environment that they may have been in for 10 years.
They're changing the environment for their families included.
And so not everything just...
you know, happens that quickly and pays off with a ton of points.
And so, but those players that come in with a, let's say at a bit of a lesser, um, banfare, like a Van Riemszijk, they're coming under the radar.
And the expectation is you're blocking shots, a good stick, a good first pass, good PK, and you play 18 to 19 minutes a night.
And all of a sudden that stress to make sure that you score 30 goals isn't on the plate.
And all of a sudden he can probably be himself quicker than the big splash signing that we see year in, year out.
That doesn't always pay off dividends right away.
So I'll, you know, and it's funny because sitting on the sidelines here and hearing everybody not talk about Kapanen or when they do talk about Kapanen, it seems to be so, so negative and how quickly people forget the kind of regular season that he did have.
we look at short moments and it just happened to be the playoffs because they went deep that everybody wants to judge them by that and that only.
And they forget the overall body of work is in an absolutely excellent season.
