And the fact that you don't do that with Blaine Hughes, your actual goalkeeper, shows me that that's not your tactic that you want to play with.
well exactly but then lock up shop before half time here get back in goal and just lock up shop when the game was 15 on 15 that made a lot of sense because you had 14 men back 14 defenders back Rafferty could come out as a spare man and nobody could pick him up that made perfect sense right now when you have to keep four back anyway if it's your goalkeeper or not it doesn't make any sense Rafferty can be picked up and it's Ethan Rafferty as well nobody's forgetting that he's there that's a key point they have to keep four back you have to keep Tiernan Kelly back technically
goalkeeper plus three so it's not like Rafferty's joining and they only have three back and an extra man he's not an extra man and the other thing is I've seen some people do this at club level and I've been thinking why are you doing this because the keeper's not the extra man and part of me thinks it's because you can keep an extra man in front of the three full forwards
so you have a sweeper so that might discourage teams to kick it because they look up and they see four defenders and three there's no goalkeeper but they're still outnumbered so they might not kick it you have enough time to get back but Kerry kick it especially when they turn the ball over David's there Kevin White has just put it up into there it's like oh there's Clifford there's Gainey let's go the fist of that was a bit strange because Clifford doesn't contest it and Aaron Mackay goes up and knocks it and it falls well but I just don't think you mentioned it Armagh
In hindsight, though, the Cork performance looks better.
The Armagh result maybe doesn't look as well.
Like, if you consider Armagh were one second from a two-week break in a quarterfinal spot, one second, the ball drops into the net and they want to wait to carry instead, you know, six days later.
So mentally, that's terrible for them.
Like, the players at Armagh have been operating without as well.
And then obviously a few retirements over the last couple of years.

at the Kerry team two years ago and ripped out the same six, seven, eight players that Armagh are missing, you'd be like, well, what can you do?
So maybe they're not at the same level as well.
