It struck me as the behaviour of someone who had spoke with a solicitor two minutes before going in and the solicitor said something like, by the way, you apologise.
That's an implicit admission of guilt.
So no big apologies.
In you go.
That's my kindest interpretation as to his performance on the non-apology front.
What did you make of what was going on there?
This is Jane Phillips.
Jane Phillips is the president.
We didn't play clips of her in the preamble, but she didn't have a big role yesterday, but at various points when she had her moment and, you know, she referenced this and I was part of the Defence Force's reports.
Like I've seen toxic behaviour was the implication.
Yeah.
So at one point she says very forcibly that this word toxic that's being used, it's a glib word, it's easy to put on the situation.
And later on, she said something along the lines of the media portrayal of this is not the truth, in effect, is what she said.
But then when she was pushed on that,
you know, have you spoken to athletes?
Like the athletes in question, have you been, you know, what's this all based on?
And she then acknowledged, well, look, I haven't had contact with the high performance athletes.
So she was almost saying like the local rowing club is not toxic.
But she really came out kind of punchy for someone who wasn't even talking about what they were there to discuss.
But she was exposed quite quickly with that line.
