So I think that the idea that we have some ability to waive the charter and grant a grace period I think is is uh is fallacious. podcast-host

And again the conversation that Dwayne and I had is there may be a difference in timing between appointment and start date. podcast-host

But the start date is the beginning of the term of office. podcast-host

So it's oftentimes possible where we can appoint somebody and they start in one or two months because they're wrapping up their duties in their prior employer. podcast-host

But once any city manager begins on the job, the charter is very clear that they must be a resident of the city. podcast-host

I moved down here from Jacksonville and I had residency established day one on the job. podcast-host

I moved three hundred miles and a five hour drive. podcast-host

So I I don't buy into the fact that somebody can't come up from an hour away and find a place to live in less less than nine months. podcast-host
