We've closed the month of May basically in the exact same position as we were last season.
We've ridden through all of these injuries and all these issues with the pitching staff and all this stuff, bullpen days, everything else.
And here we are.
Let's kick butt with the beginning of things in June on Tuesday against Atlanta.
Here we go.
But instead, you lose Saturday.
You fall back down below 500.
Now you lose Sunday.
You're two below.
And you're kind of scuffling and feeling bad about yourself.
If the whole idea or the mantra of win now and worry about tomorrow tomorrow –
I think he could have gone to Louie Varland in the ninth inning considering he had only pitched or thrown 12 pitches.
And if he runs into trouble in the first batter or two or the pitch count gets a little bit high, now you go to a Jeff Hoffman or a Connor Seabold, who, by the way, you had also brought up twice already in the game.
So he was ready.
There's some people that are saying, why not start Seabold in the ninth inning and then go to Hoffman if you run into trouble because Seabold is already ready.
So that's where I think the second guessing comes in.
I would have liked to have seen more of Louie Varland.
