But that's easy for me.
I'm getting one person.
If you're a medical school with 5,000 applications, what do you do?
This comes down to funding.
This comes down to a lot of things.
But there needs to be really systematic changes in how we assess people.
I think some of the quickest fixes are to allow students to show they've improved.
You can do that with assignments.
You can do that with exams.
If you have a good assignment, that's a final assignment, that's a capstone, and it makes them do everything they did throughout the semester...
Well, again, do you really care that they didn't do well in the second week of class when they were just getting into it?
You're more concerned that they learned it at the end.
So stop being so rigid in how you kind of assign grades.
And then later on, hopefully we take away things, not take away grades, but minimize their impact.
