Because you running the franchise as the GM, as the coach, as the personnel people need to know your team better than everyone else.
And it's not always about the superstars or the sexiest names.
It's just about getting it right.
And clearly the Knicks got it right with Mike Brown, the Carl Anthony Towns, to Jalen Brunson, to it all.
And I think Seattle was a great example this year in football.
Even the Rams, who were right there with them.
The Stafford move is a move that most people would have made, the Jared Goff trade.
But the heartbeat, if you remove the quarterback of their squad, is like Puka Nakua in the 5th.
You know, was Jared Verse in the late teens, who I think it's easy to say now, it's like no brainer pick, came from Albany before he went to Florida State.
Not exactly some five-star, can't-miss, all-time prospect.
And then they took his other teammate, Braden Fisk, like 20 picks later, who actually was much more productive than him as a rookie.
You know why?
Because they understand it's about building a team.
And they know how to build a team.
that's a huge part of football.
So it's a huge part of basketball.
And it's the thing that I like still to this day, kind of the most about sports is like, you see the teams that have no clue what they're doing.
And then you see the teams.
It's like why the Ravens are pretty consistently good.
Now I'm going to bet probably against them a little bit this year.
