So that gives a mayor of Limerick a huge opportunity because you can actually take out a street or a block or two
And it doesn't impact on anyone.
We see it when we do Riverfest and we have 100,000 people here.
Frankly, we close down the whole of the city centre and everybody still gets in to actually enjoy the couple of days.
So it's a really big thing that I've been handed as a city.
I mean, there are cities.
Like, you know, Dublin that are much more tough to do this in because they tend to be more historic than the Georgian cities.
And Limerick, as indeed is the case in Bilbao, for example, which I look a lot to, you know, the mayor of both of those two cities.
has got that perfect urban model, which is these little blocks that are very flexible.
Look, I mean, I'll put it like this.
And I suppose you can only vote with your personal preferences.
Obviously, you know, I lived in Dublin a lot.
But when it came to actually choosing a place to live about six, seven, eight, 10 years ago, for me, it had to be Limerick.
I mean, I voted with my feet and I haven't regretted a bit of it.
Look, I think a lot of the science would say that the magic number is probably somewhere between 100,000 to 200,000 maybe of that region, right?
You have what you call in a perfect world, they refer to it as a global city.
It's a local community-based city that is globally connected.
So if you want to hop away on a plane to see friends somewhere else, or you want to go away for a weekend, or you've got
business partner that needs to come and visit you.
You have that connectivity right at hand.
