And I thought Newcastle and the and the War Flags group

staged it brilliantly.

You know, to have it all around the stadium.

And also what was really effective was that they gave it a little bit of space to breathe before the match, before the teams came out.

It takes a lot for me to get a lump in my throat, but I did when it was all

They put the a very effective video up on the screens, which was in black and white, and it was at that point that the uh the words, Kevin Keegan's words were put up in the Gallagher End.

And um you know, you I think everyone who was there and I'll have witnessed it, and probably people who were tuning in as well, will have felt that emotion.

because I was actually struggling to to to keep it together.

And if you if you do look at the video you can actually see bottom lip wobbling a little bit.

I felt it as soon as I walked up to St James's Park, and almost the first thing that I saw was a young boy who was probably only about I don't know, 13 or 14 years old, but he was wearing an England top from the 1982 World Cup with Keegan on the back.

And I just thought, God, that's um that just goes to show what's coming here.

And and virtually everyone was wearing a Keegan shirt.

And as I said before to you, I've

think it's just that um and so many people will feel this, that they have this connection with Kevin Keegan and for people of my age

You know, he was my first footballing hero really, and to have followed his his career as a a football follower and then doing this job and s interviewing him and

You know, seeing how it all played out, I think that's what you were feeling on that day at St James's Park.

So I think that all who were assembled there and all who were f following it from wherever

w because of that connection that they had with Kevin Keegan, I think that's why there was the emotion.

I think my response to that would would be half the time I'm thinking about what I'm gonna say next.
