They've got a story and um Joe Wicks is in the story, Georgia Stanway, Tim Henman, and anyway, and all of the Beano characters are in it.

So anyway, l last week on Gordon Smart's programme on Five Live, we did a feature on it to promote it and the link up with the National Year of Reading.

And rather amusingly, on that day, even though this edition has been out for probably a couple of months now, it was picked up and actually became an item on the news on Radio Four.

So I got I got a lot of reaction last Friday from people who'd heard about this story of me appearing in the Beano being in the Radio Four news.

So I would see the Beano and the Dandy, but I think my memory of the Beano and the Dandy was was more you would always get given a copy of the annual at Christmas, wouldn't you?

But I thought they missed a bit of a trick there, 'cause really, Ian, they should have got you to do it, shouldn't they?

But uh but it is i I have to say, it is something that I do uh uh when when they said would you do this, y you know, it it's something that that I thought absolutely I'd love to if there's a tiny way that I could g encourage people to take up reading.

And I think comics are a great way into reading.

As you mentioned, Ali, Royal Rovers was quite a big thing, wasn't it, for us when we were growing up.

But the various other comics I used to read as well.

Yeah, well I do.

And as I was saying to Gordon Smart th uh last week, one of the things that we did, me and some friends, as y as I think you both know, set up a a book club during COVID.

So from a point where I would only read occasionally because you feel like you haven't got the time, uh joining the boot club really forced me to A read more and B read things that I
