Anybody who was around that time at the Rose Hotel,

The cathedral was hit by incendiaries, but there were fire watchers.

And the job of a fire watcher was, as the name would tell you, to watch for fire and to then to alert the authorities.

And they saw the incendiary's landing started burning.

They rushed at the cathedral, rushed into the roof space and managed to extinguish them.

And so the cathedral was a survivor of the Blitz, but many people were not.

So you've got what we would in the military call an HE bomb, high explosive.

So basically it is a steel iron case filled with explosive.

And so it can be fused in the different ways.

And I talk about these when I'm talking about the bomb disposal guys, because they're faced with different types of fuse.

So the bomb can go off when it hits the ground, an impact fuse.

It could be on a time fuse.

So it hits the ground and then tick.

merrily away for an hour, a day, two days, and it can explode afterwards.

But basically, and they can have anti-tamper fuses.

So you can just lie there and do nothing until somebody touches it or tries to disarm it.

And then it kills the bomb disposal people or kills children who kind of, you know, the next day are wandering around the bomb sites.

The HE bombs are designed to basically blow buildings apart, to kill, to destroy.

But then what you're also doing is dropping thousands and thousands of incendiaries on an area.

So Canterbury is the classic example.
