And to give you some numbers on what that meant, Austrac, who are the transaction monitoring authority in Australia, and they track where cash goes, where crypto goes, where checks go, any payments that move around the banking system between consumers is tracked by them.
You had to be registered with them in the previous regime, and you still do.
But that was quite a light touch kind of bar to reach in terms of regulation.
They had over 400 entities registered as being in crypto in some way offering services.
That might be a broker.
That might be someone out in a house somewhere with a Bitcoin ATM.
These are trying to be removed by the Attorney General's office right now.
All sorts of part of the industry.
And I think we've grown up now where you've got to really be an adult.
And to get an AFSL, that is millions of dollars of compliance obligation and human capital that you have to be able to retain and maintain, sit exams, meet those exams, file various things.
So there are only about 40 entities now that have an AFSL and probably another 10 or 20 who will get them in the foreseeable future.
So the industry is really consolidated and we've gone from, you know, kind of 400 to 40.
So that's kind of another overview for you of what's happened.
And that's, you know, make sure everyone's getting a lot more serious.
Fantastic.
Yes, I think we've seen over kind of multi-year cycles, cryptos now in its kind of fourth phase of coming above 60,000 US dollars, which is 100K Aussie approximately.
I think in this latest phase, what gives people confidence is you haven't seen these big outflows from institutions.
So when you see other asset classes dipping, there are lots of programmatic trading and bots and other mechanisms in place to just force a huge sell-off.
And you haven't seen that with crypto.
In many cases, we still see what they call Bitcoin maxis or maximalists, people who are like gold bugs, wanting to hold this asset.
