We're looking at the value of this creative idea and the next best thing.

So somebody coming to us looking for a

Not interested, just because everybody wants to do something on AI.

If you've got some really incredible creative idea that's going to be a breakthrough or a group of people who do, that's where we need to be investing.

Me too.

And I think, you know, there's a form of healthy competition, right, that could be really positive.

So I actually, you know, in some ways, I don't love the frame of it's just an arms race between two countries.

It's just frankly not true, right?

There obviously are leading companies and leading efforts in both countries.

But, you know, if we could lean into who's doing it better, who's using it better to promote economic growth, to create new jobs, to create better cars, to create better opportunity of various sorts, that's healthy.

And I would say, you know, I think this is one of the really attractive things about this approach of collaborating at this large scale.

$500 million, I realize, is nothing compared to the trillions, but for philanthropy, it's a fair amount of money.

And just to restate, it's Doris Duke Foundation, Ford Foundation, Lumina Foundation, Kapor Foundation, MacArthur and Midio, or of course, Mellon Foundation, Mozilla Foundation, Packard, and the Siegel Family Endowment.

If you think across those 10,

There's actually a fair amount of diversity of approach.

And we come from every part of the country, West Coast, East Coast, the center of the country, you know, where many of the foundations are based.

But we actually have a bunch of different approaches to what we're doing.

And actually, I think it is modeling in some ways how we think these problems have to be addressed.

So one is we are pooling a certain amount of money to make some grants together.

That's the first set of grants that we just released and the pooled grants we'll be making.
