One great example of it was this.
My mom, I can remember, brought home once a little small piece of filet mignon steak.
And she cut it in three pieces, just about little just square inch hunks or something.
And she couldn't.
Just three little pieces and said, Boys, this is something called filet mignon.
And it's what of the rich people eat.
We eat just like the rich people.
We thought, great, whoever.
They are.
This is wonderful.
Mm-hmm.
At another time, but in those days, it was a lot less expensive.
She brought a little bit of caviar and said, Boys, this is caviar.
You know, she was European when she came over.
She says, That's what these rich people eat also.
We eat just like they do.
I said, How cool.
Another thing that really sucks in my head, we were finally home there at 10, 11 years old, and we had paper routes in the morning.
And one day, I'll never forget this day, we were home.
