So if you start hedging yourself, you know, if if you're long if you're long US equities and you haven't hedged the dollar, uh I've had a lot of conversations with very large institutional investors who are who are looking at this with a with a great deal of concern.
And uh there are a number of ways to hedge your dollar exposure.
And gold is performing particularly well during periods when um shocks
Come out of the United States.
In the past, typically a shock would come to the global economy or to um you know politics or or or um maybe even a health shock.
You'd see the dollar strengthen.
That's not happening now.
And that's not happening now because I think that the shocks are coming from the United States and they're involving trust and faith in the longer-term future of the US dollar and the and treasury.
So gold's performing really well under those circumstances, and it's looking like a particular
particularly effective hedge.
For those who want to be long US assets but want to try and uh eliminate or reverse some of their dollar exposure.
Well, one of the things about this year, just when you thought you'd hit peak worry, something c else came along to uh you know, s to make you concerned.
Um there is no doubt there is there are elements of speculation in this price.
We've we've seen leveraged investors returning to the gold market.
We've got modestly long positions in the Comex futures market.
All of those things are are indicative that the speculation going on.
But but that's true for every
market.
When something starts going up rapidly, uh any asset class really, of course speculators jump uh join in or jump in the bandwagon.
Um but they're not the only game in town.
