So for Nintendo game key cards are different from regular game cards because they don't contain the full game data. Instead, the game key card is your key. to downloading the full game to your system via the internet. After it's downloaded, you can play the game by inserting the game key card into your system and starting it up like a standard physical game card.

I don't like this at all personally because what it essentially is saying, you have to treat this like a physical game card, but I can't just hand it to someone to share it. I would not want this. If I have to download the damn game, I might as well just get the digital version. What's the point? So I can lose the key card somewhere and now I'm screwed? I don't know.

I know 12 years later and it's still just as confusing. So yeah, clearly we need more information on this because on paper, this doesn't make sense to me. I don't know who the target audience for this is because either I want a physical copy, which means I want it on that cartridge so I can share it with my kids or whoever, or I'm just getting the digital version.
