That's awesome. The Roper Report. The Switch 2 has been revealed and the games have been detailed. So like we said, Gamescast went topic by topic and game by game. So we'll be a little more top level with this because we don't want to break this down and we'll be here for five hours trying to do that. So, Gary, have you watched the Switch 2 reveal? Do you know about anything that happened so far?
Well, you know the price, because I want to start there with the price.
Yeah, $450, $449.99. So I'm curious, your thoughts. How do you feel about that?
Yeah, I'm actually with you on that. I'm I thought three ninety nine. I just thought you don't want to see that four number. You want to still keep it reasonable for families and obviously consumers, because if if I'm not mistaken, the original switch back in twenty seventeen was two ninety nine. I think I'm correct on that.
So this is a pretty big increase coming to the next console going all the way up to four fifty. So I thought, OK, 400 seems reasonable because of everything that you talked about. We knew, again, just rumors potentially docked. It was going to do 4K. It sounds like even in handheld mode, it's doing 1080p up to 120 frames per second as well. HDR is being added to it now. Bigger size screen.
I know they didn't talk. I don't think they said anything specific about battery life yet. So we still don't know anything about that.
No, I completely agree. And to your point, I didn't I didn't know that because, again, all this news is coming in so hot and fast. The two to six, I guess I get because when you think about a game like Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be playable on this. We know I'm sure we'll get into some of the other games. What is it? Dustborn, I believe we're calling it now the new from software game.
You know, that's going to be pretty intensive as well. So it's probably going to also take a lot of battery life. But some of the simpler games clearly aren't going to need as much performance to be able to run. They're going to have better battery. I don't think they've talked. They haven't.
Again, I'm doing all this real time, so I don't I don't think they've said anything about utilizing DLSS or anything because we know it's it's it's using NVIDIA under the hood. So I'm sure they'll talk about more of that from a technical standpoint down the road. But getting back to the actual price of it.
yeah i mean i wish it was cheaper 450 isn't crazy to me i i still felt that was reasonable for everything that you said um from what this device is going to be able to do um i'm more concerned about the actual game prices themselves like i'll fully admit i went to nintendo.com already and registered for the bundle which is the switch 2 and mario kart world yeah and it adds 50 bucks on right
Right, but Jeff Keighley already announced that the digital version of Mario Kart World is $80. I'm legitimately concerned by that.
Yeah, that'll be a deal. But what does that mean outside of that game moving forward for Nintendo games? Is that the new price?
They're not? They're saying physical is going to be more. So what, are you looking at $90 for a Nintendo game card? Come on. People can correct us if we're wrong here, because like I said, I'm real-time seeing all this info come in over social media, so I don't have 100% of the details. But from everything I understand, physical copies will cost more.
Oh, absolutely. And before we dive into that more, I just want to get into some of the more specific. So, again, $449.99 is the price for the Switch 2. Pre-orders will open on April 9th to be able to get it. Like I just mentioned, I went on to Nintendo.com, and you can kind of pre-register for that. Yeah, I already got the email.
