So we were the ones, I mean I was nineteen years old rubbing shoulders in the in the dressing room and talking to Bobby Clark about appearing on hockey night in Canada. voice-verified

And so that meant you had to spend hours and a and a great deal of uh of of creativity um to make the intermissions exciting, to make the intermissions worth watching so that voice-verified

If the teams that you were supposed to be covering were playing bad, people would say, Yeah, don't worry about it, but I gotta hear what Grapes says. voice-verified

And that became really, I think, the the cornerstone of what made Hockey Night so special. voice-verified

Certainly the coverage was great, and I do think that there is a philosophy to Hockey Knight coverage, but I think it was our our um attention paid to programming the intermissions that made us different than any other show. voice-verified
