Over the last couple of years, Chris has done a magnificent job of juggling the goaltending, particularly in the playoffs, to know what worked and what didn't work, whether it was Pickard or Skinner.
And this year he made a decision to go with Ingram, which I think was the right decision.
But, you know, in the end, Conor Ingram is Conor Ingram.
He's not Andre Vasilevsky.
He's not Sergei Bobrovsky.
He's a good, solid goaltender, but he's not a championship goaltender.
Well, and your pal John Cooper's been eliminated in four consecutive first rounds, and nobody's talking about getting rid of John Cooper.
Well, the list of coaches is not that long, Bob.
That's the problem.
I mean, we all can be members of the Bruce Cassidy fan club.
And, you know, that becomes part of the second question.
Okay, if you're going to fire this guy, who do you bring in?
You better have somebody in the bag ready to go, I think, in order to make this thing work.
And whether it's Bruce or some other veteran coach, Peter Laviolette, I mean, I don't know what, it would be ironic if it was Peter Laviolette considering 2006.
Yes.
But you just never know.
You know, there's a psyche amongst these guys that they want to coach.
And the Edmonton Oilers is an attractive team to coach because of the superstars.
That's a reality of where we are right now.
So it wouldn't surprise me if it is a veteran guy because I'm not sure there are any really qualified young guys, modern coaches right now.
