It's been around since 2016, and that's why, you know, people are concerned.
It's a new plane.
We know some
Things have been wrong with it, like, you know, the automated system that led to the Lion Air crash, or at least seems to have played a role.
But, you know, the sort of Airbus' A320, which is the big competitor here, it's another
very popular model, you know, you'd think that if the damage to Boeing was seen as, you know, something lasting, something that will lead to airlines canceling orders en masse and sort of, you know, the only alternative they have is the A320, right?
So they can't buy anything else.
So if that was the logic that was moving investors, you'd see
the shares of Airbus go up a lot because the logic is, oh, well, you know, all these orders, they only have one place to go, and it's Airbus.
Yeah, it's on service as a freighter.
But it was on service as a commercial plane until not long ago.
The DC-10 is actually, you know, was famous for being, you know, disastrous for having had so many accidents and having this sort of really bad record.
And a lot of those accidents were really high profile.
And the plane, you know, it went through upgrades.
You know, it improved its safety record significantly.
You'd think that if...
you know, the reputational damage was huge for like a plane model, then definitely the DC-10 was the plane that should have lost out the most because people used to be afraid, you know, and yet it stayed in production for 20 years.
It started in 1968 and, you know, it went till, you know, the 80s and stayed around a lot longer.
Even the most famous aircraft that had huge design flaws that people think about as having failed because of accident, which is the
de Havilland Comet.
