There was times when Boy Henry was driving up the pitch through the middle and people were standing watching him.
Yeah, I think it's 50-50, isn't it?
I mean, the manager sets his team up, picks his team, walks through his set up and how he wants the team to play.
Once the players cross the white line, he's no telling guys to drop runners at the back post.
He's no telling centre-halves to dwell on the ball in the box, etc.
So everybody's got to take...
responsibility you know when the manager puts you on the pitch it's up to you to perform i think it's it's very easy our top players our big players haven't turned up there is that there is no doubt i've seen it today somebody says and it was a big argument by a couple of pundits saying that the players were untechnical or and you know not good enough i disagree with that because these boys are playing at the top level of the premier league so
it's just one of them it's the game last night it's very very difficult conditions to play there play a high tempo game especially against the world elite footballers we got off to a bad start again and we kind of shook a little bit then we recomposed ourselves I think the one we go back to Jack Henry that's a foul on him for me all day long I think Vinicius Junior is blocked Jack Henry's foot coming through the ball to play it back so that's a non-talking point for me but as you say players everybody's got to take responsibility
There was a couple of cutbacks that were behind him that he just tried to get his foot on.
But you're talking about Shanklin scoring goals for fun.
Shanklin's playing in a league that they're creating chances, three and four good chances for him and opportunities week in, week out.
You go to the highest level, the chances are very few and far between.
And this is the problem.
You kind of turn around and say,
our strikers are missing loads of chances because we've actually no created a lot of good opportunities for any of the boys so I think it's a wee bit harsh on to complain about the strikers as you said Tom McTominay sat deep in the first game against Haiti smashed one off the post and I think it was just due to the fact that he was sitting going you know what we've lost Billy Gilmore how do we fill that gap and you know he's then reverted back last night and put him a wee bit higher up the pitch and he looked a wee bit more dangerous but
We've not really created a tremendous amount of quality.
Once you win it and once you release it, the players have got to have the energy to get up the pitch in support of the attacking players.
And we've just not done it enough.
I tell you, I can't keep going back to it enough.
The conditions play a massive part on high-tempo football over there.
