But I mean just to have that the wave, the point, uh Lane, you know, kind of feeling the the intensity of the moment, knowing he had just lost.

It just it could not have worked out any better for for Ole Miss, uh, truly.

And you know, I was around uh some of the tailgates and the growth before the game, and and the one thing that just kept sticking out, I had a friend who told me it's like

If football gods are real, we will win this game.

Like if they're real, one time we will get this game.

Like we the karma of it all, like one time.

And so it meant a lot to everybody at Ole Miss, of course, to win that game.

And you saw once it was finally over, once they realized that LSG couldn't come back, the mask kind of dropped a little bit and all the it's just another game fell away.

And you saw the way they celebrated.

Uh the way that Trinidad Chamblitz talked about the game afterwards, like they wanted this one bad and to be able to, you know, send off their former coach back to Louisiana with a loss, uh almost indescribable how much it meant to, you know, not only the team, but also their fans.

It felt different.

Um, I I've been fortunate to cover a lot of great games in in my career, and that atmosphere is up there with any of them.

Um, I mean the one that sometimes I reference that stands out the most uh from just a regular season game was 2022 Alabama, Tennessee, when Tennessee finally beat Alabama after all those years of Alabama bullying bullying them, and it it felt like a kind of a cathartic release for Tennessee fans.

And I felt a lot of that.

you know, in Oxford.

There's so much build up to it.

I mean, just it was there from Wednesday, Thursday on and just every day the place getting more and more crowded, more and more people coming into town to talk about it.

And uh the the scene was great inside the stadium.

I mean they it was a record crowd.

They packed in uh as many people as they possibly could in what's one of the smaller SC stadiums.
