John Ternes

Cook will be replaced by Apple's senior vice president of hardware engineering, John Ternes.

An Apple employee told The Daily Wire Ternes was widely expected to be the next CEO.

Like Cook, Ternes also worked for Steve Jobs, joining the company in 2001 as a member of its product design team.

Ternes is known for introducing new products across all lines, including the iPad, iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and AirPod products.

Ternus will be tasked with leading the company through the new age of artificial intelligence.

He will assume his new role on September 1st, 2026.
