I thought, well, what would that sound like?

What would a sports theme?

And nobody knew me as a musician.

And so I got the idea in the middle of the night and I didn't have a keyboard.

I didn't have a computer, nothing, a computer, nothing.

And so I called my answering machine.

And then it hung up on me, the answering machine.

And I call back, here's the rest of it.

And two weeks later, I came home to New York and I checked my messages.

As usual, I only had two because I was that popular.

And I put it on the piano and I went, let's see.

So it's really, I mean, the key of the song is really only like eight notes that people will remember.
