It's the most common thing that I see during these international meets is it's a loss of foot pressure.
It's almost like guys lose their like jelly legs underneath them, whether it's on squat or whether it's on deadlift.
And we were talking about it on the last episode where Will is somebody that would gain, will gain so many kilos.
If he stayed the exact same strength right now and just drilled tech and standardized squats and didn't have this crazy knee shooting back and throw him back in half the time, would just be a stronger guy.
And he will be.
But at this meet, especially that second squat and honestly, all of his pulls, if you know what you're looking at biomechanically, he's off.
Like he is losing position as maximally as possible, like full vertical Shannon squat, hips back, head down, throwing himself back into it.
He just wouldn't be denied.
um and even on that taper pole which i think was only like 250 or something maybe there was an extra red on there maybe it was like 300 kilo um but that's when i saw it which was before like a week before he competed or so maybe a few days where he's going into pole and all of these really snappy poles that ron and i were talking about leading into worlds where he's coming in at that perfect wedge point
Staying in the quads, just snapping through.
Even with 250 or 300 or so, he was losing it immediately, dumping everything onto the posterior chain.
It just didn't matter.
And he's just popping up.
So for him to come in, in what my opinion is, I haven't talked to him at all since.
I don't know if he felt like he was on or what.
But I might, right after this podcast, message him to ask.
But...
I think he came in not showing up, especially with 217 and a half on bench, taking that two and a half keys lower than I thought he would probably like minimally take.
And he still made it look easy.
Like that third pole was nothing.
