You know, like um I grew up I'll be honest in and if you don't know my story, I'll I'll give you the reader's digest uh short version here. matched

I I grew up matched

You know, in the mountains of North Carolina, out in the hills, I grew up uh in in what's now Trump country and I was raised by white supremacists. matched

I was taught white supremacy, you know, uh racism's so casual where I'm from is culture. matched

And so, you know, it was part of who I was. matched

And deconstructing well, first recognizing that and then deconstructing from that over all these years has been an eye opening experience for me. matched

The the thing that got me started that got me the loudest, that got me to speak out the most, was when I first started realizing, Hey man, I think we're a bunch of racists. matched

I and I started saying that out loud, I was like a teenager, you know, fifteen, sixteen years old. matched

The people that I that I live around that go to school with me and and are in my community were like, Oh no, we're not like that. matched

I live with you. matched

We're just like that. matched

Don't gaslight me. matched

And so I I got pissed off, you know, but uh but I learned if I can recognize something and then tell m the very people I live with and work with and go to school with and they can look me dead in the face and say, That's not true, then I can't trust anyone in the white community to see white supremacy until they educate themselves on it. matched
