This is not a partisan issue.
The Constitution is very clear on lots of things.
In his speech, he used a lot of examples.
The first example he used, the very first example out the gate that he used was the war in Iran and the attack on Venezuela and Cuba.
He's 100% right.
These are acts of war.
These are acts that have put service members' lives in danger to the cost of 13 service members.
And the reason the Constitution gives the Congress the power to make that decision is because Congress is a governing body that represents the totality of the population of America.
The framers of the Constitution did not want one single person to be able to make such big, important decisions that they felt like should come from the representatives of the people.
That's why we are a representative republic.
And so when Donald Trump
makes these decisions to go kidnap the president of Venezuela.
By the way, we've kind of stopped talking about that.
By the way, nobody really mentions that anymore.
But think about how absurd that statement is.
America kidnapped the president of Venezuela.
That is an absurd statement, but it actually happened.
And we've already stopped talking about it because of the
absolute amount of absurdity this president does you know the news cycle moves quickly and so what major watson was saying today was between kidnapping the president of another country putting a blockade on cuba which is literally killing people and starting a war in iran without the approval of congress these are actions that are outside of the authority of the executive branch of uh you know according to the constitution
And the oath that Major Watson took, the oath that all service members take, and he mentioned this in his speech, is an oath to the Constitution, not to a person, not to an office, to the Constitution.
