But, you know, the dead skin cells that are on top of your skin actually helps with that UV exposure.
So it actually is sort of like a natural sunblock.
And when Dr. Alexander Wunsch explained this to me, and when you actually wash your skin too much,
you're actually removing those dead skin cells and you're removing a layer of skin that would actually be protective.
So really interesting there.
And he's, you know, he's German.
So he's so funny about this, but it's like to him, it's like crazy that Americans wash their body like multiple times a day, you know?
But no, so like it's very, so it's very nuanced with this whole sunbathing.
But what I want people to do is start out slow and gradually, and that could even be
three to five minutes.
If you're very pale, that may be all you need, especially if it's very high UV, right?
So it also depends when during the year you're sunbathing.
If it's during the summer and you're closer to the equator, whatever your latitude is, right?
It's going to depend.
So if you have, you know, I live in Florida, the UV can be up to like 11 here during the summer, during the middle of the day.
And for someone who's really pale, if you go out there for even like
30 minutes.
That could be too much.
So we want to start off gradually.
We want to build up our melanin, right?
