Got an older dog, whatever it is, whenever you got that dog, we all set out with some kind of goal.
And we're like, Hey, I'm gonna do sport with this dog or I want somebody to run with, hike with, I want a companion.
Whatever it is.
And I feel like the way we all end up or start out training anyway.
Is said dog does something way off of whatever we planned or imagined in our head.
And we're like, Jesus Christ, I need this to stop or I need to fix it or this goal that I have, I need to find a way to accomplish it. 'Cause me and this dog aren't communicating in the same way.
Uh, and I think one of the things that's overlooked is everybody hammers obedience and all this other stuff.
I feel like even as trainers and and giving away like some secret sauce that we tell our pet clients here.
Obedience isn't the solution necessarily.
Yes, you need the obedience, but it's more about how do you utilize it to fit your needs.
How can you use obedience to shape your lifestyle with your dogs?
Uh, and that's a big one that I don't think we've had that conversation on here.
We maybe touched on it a little bit.
But uh just getting the most out of your dogs, living with 'em, how to fix small, minor things that may be minor to you.
But like I know for me, I hate a dog blasting out of a crate.
Like it pisses me off.
And if every time I have to go open that crate, I'm angry 'cause I know my dog's gonna come out and blow by me and slide across the floor and knock some shit over.
Then I'm less likely to go interact with them.
Right.
So fixing those kind of behaviors and those little things and utilizing obedience to problem solve.
