It was a terrible moment for that country.
It was a terrible moment for anyone involved.
that values the rule of law or international law or civilians living peacefully, because it was a brutal and savage attack on civilians.
So given that it was such a horrible moment, the immediate assumption that actually the Jewish state did that deliberately to its own people in order to then carry out a slaughter, a massacre of Palestinians, it assumes the very, very worst of Jews, the very, very worst of Israel.
And
Knowing Israel as I do, knowing Judaism as I do, these things are utterly unthinkable to me as possible explanations, but they are echoes of the kind of conspiracies that have chased Jews around forever, around the world, and now within Israel.
It is the assumption that Jews are people who are acting in a coordinated and secretive way, which is bloodthirsty, power-hungry, controlling people,
brutal nasty and expansionist and my experience and knowledge of these things which is not insignificant is the direct opposite we are not those people
And there may be reasons that some think we are, but in every single fibre of my being, in every single moment of my work, of my existence, I will do everything I can to explain to people that that's not the case.
And they may think it out of malice towards Jews or they may think it out of ignorance about Jews.
But anything I can do to answer those sorts of allegations, I always will.
So absolutely bring it on.
I think the British public have been misled.
You might call it brainwashing, especially in terms of Israel.
So I do think that that has contributed significantly.
then to having a negative opinion of many Jewish people, because lots of those Jewish people stand up for Israel and argue with those misperceptions about Israel.
So, for example, the BBC and Sky News, in my opinion, have a reprehensible record in how they cover Israel and the wider Middle East.
I think that their coverage is massively twisted, warped and skewed against Israel.
I don't think that there is nothing for them to criticise or to report critically about Israel and its engagement, especially in wars.
But I do think that they massively overdo it and they under-provide context and explanation and they under-provide facts that would help people to understand it better.
