In the broadest possible sense, this was a policy speech.
And the policy was about the deployment of the military domestically.
And he then, he attempts to lay the predicate to his audience
that this, what he is saying, is not exceptional, but stands in a line of things that American presidents have done.
He really doesn't have a lot to say about America's foreign adversaries.
It's his domestic enemies that he's really, really focused on.
I guess my question, Bill, is it seems to me that this is a warning to everybody in that room that at some point in the future, they're going to be forced to choose between their oath and Trump.
And the question is, is that room filled with people like Mike Pence or is it filled with people like Pete Hegseth?
Yeah, here it is.

This week, I wrote a piece about what happened to conservatism.
Conservatism used to be about stability, about conserving stuff, about the rule of law, limited government, subsidiarity, and all that great stuff that goes back to Edmund Burke.
But these days, it's more like it's just a dominance fetish.
Like conservatism doesn't seem at all interested in the rule of law, and it seems to want government to not be limited at all.
And it really wants the federal government to be able to say exactly what anybody anywhere is allowed to do with their lives.
The people in Alabama want to make sure that the people in San Francisco can't name their schools, whatever the hell they want to name them.
Anyway, this is all a big, long conversation and discussion about whether or not conservatism was always going to be like this or whether this is just the end of the road and it was always headed here.
