Wow.
OK, so because I think David's best point of leverage is talking about big picture stuff, we're going to do that.
But we do have to talk about some news of the day.
First, David, earlier this morning, the president of the United States, the commander in chief, announced that from this point forward, any time Iran fires on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz,
He will be directing the U.S.
military to blow up a bridge or a power plant or some other piece of critical infrastructure in Iran.
What do you make of this plan?
Do you think this could possibly work to reopen the Strait?
Because, I mean, it just seems to me that Iran has actually managed the escalation framework very well over the course of this conflict.
They have done really pretty calculated proportional responses in escalation.
And it was only once they started striking the real critical energy infrastructure in the other Gulf states
That, you know, the Americans panicked and that's really what forced Trump to to back off.
Why wouldn't they simply do that again?
I think that's right.
And the other thing is that, I mean, the Iranians, I think they have a couple other advantages here, one of which is that their mosaic strategy of just really networking all their defense decisions means that a lot of these operations that they are having carried out against, you know, cargo ships in the strait happen even without command and control.
Right.
And so they intentionally disperse the military to have units acting on their own.
I don't know.
It just looks to me like they have had the clear strategic view of how this conflict would unfold at basically every step, despite the fact that they have all of these limitations.
So at the Hegseth testimony, he requested another $67 billion in emergency funding for the war.
