It was sort of ahead of its time.
It still exists in a very, very, very different form now.
And then it thankfully went bankrupt at exactly the right point where I had a bit of experience and some contacts and I was able to, from there to freelance, got a job at the FT on staff and that lasted three years and then I've never had a staff job since.
Well, in that respect, I don't think I did want to go into it, but it was just sort of the path I was on.
So I was accepted to do a doctorate at York looking at constructions of imperial masculinity in the works of Joseph Conrad and Rudyard Kipling.
Right.
And thankfully, I didn't get funded for that, so I could start slagging off Cristiano Ronaldo.
I think the last film I saw just before I came out to the US, or to Mexico, was The English Patient, which I have to say I enjoyed enormously.
I know it has a reputation as being slow, but I did not find it slow.
I thought it was excellent.

Well, we were talking about Bosch last night, weren't we, Barry?
Yes.
It turns out I'm actually slightly behind you on Bosch, but I've very much enjoyed Bosch.
There's sort of three incarnations of it.
There's Bosch, there's Bosch Legacy, and then there's Ballard, which sadly is not about the Sunderland centre-back.
But I finished the first iteration of Bosch on the flight from Dallas to New York.
So anybody who hasn't, it's not really a recommendation for Barry because he's already seen it.
And indeed, you're well into Ballard territory.
But anybody who hasn't watched Bosch, it's very good.
