This is I wrote this last week.
It's a very good synopsis, Sophie, if I say so myself.
Bloom is thirty eight years old, Jewish, works in advertising, although we're nowhere near madmen territory here.
He's on the very lowly end of the advertising ladder.
And he's married to a professional singer called Molly.
Bloom has a poo, which I think is probably our favourite scene in the book, goes for a bath, admires his penis, goes to a funeral, does a bit of work, has some lunch, spends a lot of time thinking about sex, wanders around Dublin, masturbates while looking at a young woman on the beach, and goes to dinner.
All this takes about four hundred pages.
I mean, it's quite incredible how Joyce stretches it out.

Bloom falls in with the young Stephen Dedalus, who is on a spree with some of his chums, and they all end up at a a brothel because we are in the manosphere here.
Finally, Stephen has the ship beaten out of him by a soldier.
I think we're definitely on the soldier's side by this point.
Leopold Bloom comes to the rescue, takes Stephen home to patch up his wounds and talk about literature, and then goes to bed.
And the novel ends with a long interior monologue as Molly Bloom indulges in many sexual fantasies, including a reflection on just how rewarding it is to give oral sex to men.
It wasn't.
We're gonna have uh I know, I'm looking forward to asking you about Molly later in the episode.
In the famous last line, she remembers how she felt when Leopold proposed to her.
I put my arms around him, yes, and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume, yes.
