And this sort of stuff does not get written about in literature.
And Joyce is saying, Well, why doesn't it get written about?
Why shouldn't this stuff be written about?
You know, what's so great about all the literary forms and use of language beforehand if it led us into mass slaughter?
We we need to start from scratch.
Scratch.
So this is Joyce saying, I'm going to try and forget everything and describe what a man looking at his penis in the bath might be.
Yeah.
Enjoy a bath now, clean trough of water, cool enamel, the gentle tepid stream.
Yeah.

Absolutely brilliant writing.
But he he's never willing to sit still in this book.
He'll do something like that, and then the next episode will take a completely different literary form.
