Let's get into it.
In a shortened US week due to Independence Day, the Dow rose 2%, the S&P 500 gained 1.8%, and the Nasdaq led up 2.1%.
Closer to home, the ASX 200 rose 0.9%, capped by its best session in three weeks on Friday, up 1.4% to 8,844.
After the previous week's dips across AI-related stocks, big tech bounced last week.
The Magnificent Seven had fallen around 9% in June.
However, across last week, Apple jumped 8.8%, Google 6.7%, and Meta 5.9%.
But the AI trade wasn't entirely out of the woods.
Semiconductors lagged, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index down 4.4% after reports Meta plans to launch a cloud business selling its excess computing power.
This is rekindling questions about whether the industry is overbuilding capacity.
In the US, the June jobs report was the main event this past week.
Nonfarm payrolls rose just 57,000, well below the 110,000 expected, and May was revised lower.
Markets welcomed the news as a cooler labour market takes pressure off of the Fed to hike.
Market pricing of a July rate hike roughly halved from about 30% to 17%, and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, speaking recently at the ECB's Cintra conference, has said inflation risks have come down in recent weeks.
One nuance worth noting though, despite the soft jobs data and Warsh's comments, US Treasury yields actually ended the week slightly higher across the curve.
Oil is helping ease pressure too.
Prices have continued to fall, with WTI crude ending the week down 2.3%.
