Continuing along the lines of humanization, the pet food landscape has changed dramatically over the last decade as we seek to feed our pets more like we feed ourselves.
We've seen an influx of new formats to the market, but the issue with a lot of these formats is they aren't as convenient as something that can sit on a shelf for months on end.
It takes pet owners more consideration and planning to feed these formats, which has become a point of frustration, particularly for people that are living in small apartments or flats.
In fact, the idea for Marley Bones, a fresh dog food subscription service in the United Kingdom, stemmed from this exact frustration.
Josephine Rhode Baker and Michaela Alexandra Wilson Scove recognized this as an opportunity and started Marley Bones together in 2020.
