Through his partnerships with local organizations, nonprofits, and cultural institutions, Ruben Esquivel continues to inspire future generations by demonstrating how art can serve as a bridge between past,
present, and future, strengthening Austin's identity as a creative and culturally rich city.
Now, therefore, I, Councilmember Jose Velasquez, along with Councilmember Natasha Harper-Madison, and the entire dais, and the Mayor Kirk Watson of the City of Austin, do hereby proclaim March 26th, 2026, as Ruben Esquivel Day in Austin, Texas.
