Really happy to be here in DC on a hundred degree weather day.
Sure, I think Ethereum um has the license to win.
I think if you look at the scoreboard, it is actually winning.
But the narrative went a little bit sideways over the last couple of years and it felt like there was malaise.
And um I think that was compounded by the Ethereum Foundation, you know, really being public about
getting smaller and more focused on the core principles of Ethereum decentralization, censorship resistance, and the like.
But there were a number of stewards in the ecosystem, not controllers, who felt very strongly that the narrative and the price had diverged and we needed to go back on offense.
So uh a group of us, Joe Lubin, who runs Consensus, uh, Sharplink, Tom Lee at Bitmine, we recognized that there was a lot of talent gonna be leaving the Ethereum Foundation, and we stepped up to support it, not to control it.
But to make sure that the densest, most talented Ethereum developers and go-to-market teams had the runway to do what they needed to do, which was to build and deliver for institutions.
And really proud that we stepped up and the narrative has completely changed in the last three weeks.
You see it in the price of ETH and you see it in the momentum in the ecosystem.
Sure.
It it's actually quite interesting because I use the word divergence pretty often, but there was a divergence from what was happening on the ground in terms of adoption and the narrative around Ethereum.
And I think Ethereum
Um, was winning uh across stable coins, tokenized assets, RWA, and DeFi, over 50% market share.
And you'd imagine if you're at the top of the league table, you're in the pole position, the narrative would be really, really positive.
Instead, it felt like there was two or three years of malaise.
And even though Ethereum was shipping out real step function uh beneficial code and deliverables.
The narrative was way behind.
And part of that was some disarray at the Ethereum Foundation.
