Ransom Duel asks, how do you come up with focuses for the three-part stories?
So yeah, in the last few years, we've started to do kind of longer stories.
This was partly a response to, you know, it was just hitting a point where we had so many episodes that we were hearing people be like, I don't know where to start.
And it just seems like a lot of story to catch up on.
Do I start at the beginning?
And we don't really want to be the kind of show where you have to start from the beginning.
Certainly, if you want to, you can, and we reference stuff and build stuff.
But
It is sort of the ongoing life of this community.
And so we thought about, well, what if we did stories where it was clear where you needed to start from?
Where, okay, this is a three-part story.
So just as long as you're starting at the beginning of the three parts, you'll get it.
You know, it'll be a complete story within its own.
And it was also just interesting to tell longer stories than we could tell in 2,000 to 3,000 words.
As for how do I come... Coming up with focuses, it's just trying to find stories that are bigger than you can tell.
Generally, I'll try to go in with, like, okay, part one...
Often it's like a one sentence thing.
It's like, okay, part one does this, part two does this, and part three does this.
And then I'll start figuring out the details from there.
But if I can't figure out what is the major thing that happens in each part, then there's probably not enough story there to justify multiple parts.
