Sure, sure.

I feel that way too.

I think it's, yeah, it's a chance at that, even if it's fleeting, it's a chance at that level of connection that you don't normally get right off the bat with people.

You usually take a little while, a little bit of conversation to get to know someone well enough where you're like, I think this person's really like,

picking up what I'm putting down.

Whereas a laugh is just like, oh, this guy gets it.

I think it took me a while to feel funny because I could make my grandma laugh.

I could make my mom laugh, sometimes my dad, sometimes my grandpa.

But it was a lot of just personality things, and there wasn't structure to it.

It's not like I wrote a –

a joke and then went to my grandma with it or anything.

Yeah.

I was more just in talking or I'd say something.

And it's from the time I was little because I think she was really surprised by the things I picked up on.

And so then whenever it came back out in whatever form, it made her laugh because she was like, oh, how did you – where did you learn about that thing?

And it would be something she said.

And so now I'm bringing –

it up again in a way where I'm already using it in context for my own means.

And so I think that always made her laugh.

And then I think when I started, I felt funny after maybe the first year or so of doing stand-up.
