We went with Austin Simmons.

We got to trust Lane Kiffin a year ago, naming him as his starting quarterback because we all trust Lane's QB avows, right?

So Austin Simmons was good enough for him at one point.

The tools are there.

I will say this, too.

I wasn't shocked to see him struggle a little bit early last year.

Not everyone is fired out of a cannon at this position.

Some guys, Arch Manning's one of them.

It takes some time.

So now he's another year in.

I love that he's playing under drink.

I love that the running back, O-line, wide receiver combo should be good there.

I don't know if you would call this a defensive-oriented team this year, so he's going to have to do some work for them.

Austin Simmons could still be a really, really high-level player in this league.

but we're banking more on potential here.
