The Oklahoma City Thunder were about to accomplish something early in the season that
the basketball community has almost never seen, almost never seen.
And then Wemby, he's going to be the face of the league and everybody in the world knows it.
And he comes back.
This just happens to be his first game back.
It's an event because of that.
Not because it's here in Vegas, not because it's the NBA cup.
Although I think that adds to it.
Let the lesson be, it's the players who make the league.

It was electric because those guys are electric, the way they play, the way the Thunder are.
Oh, by the way, Shea Gilgis Alexander plays for the Thunder.
He's a reigning MVP and his name hardly seems to have come up at all.
Didn't even come up in the Spurs press conference, which shows just how much Wemby is on everyone's mind, barely or unfairly.
That was to see those two teams go at it.
