Again, like Greg mentioned before, every time he speaks you don't feel particularly inspired by anything he's saying and
Sean made a couple of interesting points there about the manager's level of honesty.
I think too often we sort of fall back on that.
And it is almost a trope of like, oh, he's Dutch, so he's just going to be bluntly honest all the time.
I don't think he is.
And there's a degree to which he can't be honest all the time.
But I think there's some things he's saying where he's sort of just papering over cracks, really.
And maybe it's because he's trying to protect some of the players a bit.
I think loads of the players look really low on confidence.
There's so many of them that are out of form.
And when you're at that point where...
You've got footballers that you've previously trusted or rated really highly, and there's so many of them that are out of confidence and out of form.
That's where it kind of does fall to the manager for me to either inspire that confidence or to make changes that bring the best out of them.
And yet that's not really the case.
And even ones who we've seen be so good this season, like Sean mentioned Sobislai there in terms of his press.
thing that was sort of frustrating me against Chelsea was Sobislai's so good at the running up to the tackle bit of the pressing and every time he goes to make a tackle he's like I'm going to do something cute here where I move out of the way so they hoof it away and it goes to one of our players but most of the time it doesn't work or he pulls out the tackle there's one he pulled out of on Caicedo which I was like is unforgivable and Chelsea came away with the ball and were able to build from that then
it's moments like that where you do start to get frustrated with the players.
But unfortunately, the sort of nature of modern football is we could be frustrated with all of them, but they're not going to be signing a performance review in the summer with the threat of their contract being terminated.
That's going to fall down to Arnes a lot.
And yeah, I imagine and I hope really that's going to be a really honest and frank conversation.
