It's really only been the last couple of months that these tariffs have gone into full effect.

You know, the president started talking about this really a lot in January.

They put in place some small tariffs back in January on washing machines and on solar panels.

But it wasn't really until later in the year that they got underway implementing steel and aluminum tariffs.

And actually, October, the month that we just got data for,

was the first month that the full set of tariffs against China were in effect.

And so we're just now kind of seeing the extent.

We're really just this week seeing for the first time the extent of the tariffs that have been put in place.

And so the U.S.

and China have reached this ceasefire to what seems like a conflict that's been going on for quite a while.

And that means they're not going to add any new additional tariffs.

But it does look like this is the level, about $6 billion a month of tariffs that we're going to be living with for a while here.

Yeah, that's exactly right.

You put in place, so for example, with like the steel and aluminum tariffs, they put in a tariff of 25% on any steel coming into the country.

So if you import a billion dollars of steel

you have to pay a $250 million tax on top of that.

And so what it does is it makes it much more expensive to bring in steel from Canada or from China or what have you, and it makes it much more cost-effective to source all your steel in the United States.
