First, thanks for having me on.
Appreciate it.
In many ways, it's true.
In many ways, we need a lot more from our young people.
And I would say the job of the generations before them are also to make the connection between what's going on in their everyday lives,
and their representatives.
Sometimes when those connections are made pretty clearly, they then see that they have an obligation to step up, and the ways in which they can step up sometimes are not as clear among those young people.
But it is true, we need to see a lot more from our young people, and I think the data bear that out in a lot of ways.
No, and this is, I mean, these are the encouraging data, I would say.
You know, we're seeing just a massive amount of the Democrat voters that were under the age of 30 that thought playing around President Trump, playing around with the, you know, those things our ancestors warned us about would give dividends are changing their mind on it.
And some folks that are already registered and leaning Democrat are much more galvanized, much more mobilized.
But
The data that are not as encouraging is that somewhere around the same percentage, if not a little bit lower percentage of voters under the age of 30 are planning on turning out in the midterms.
It's just it's around somewhere 31, 32 percent.
It's just far too low for the magnitude of what's going on in the world right now, for the magnitude of how this president
is attempting to take away our representations, thus taking away our access to resources, erasing our history, erasing our identities in many ways, taking books out of schools and taking artifacts out of museums.
We need to see a lot more.
We need to invest in how to persuade and mobilize young voters to get more involved.
How do we do that?
we need new voices we need new energy we need new ideas and i think that excites young folks to get engaged get involved and to vote can i put an exclamation mark on something he just said i just don't want this to be missed we need not only uh everything that he just said so beautifully he's on message as he always is but yeah we need the folks that are holding on to black political power to invest in transferring that power
