Influx citizens I spoke with and those advocating for the Haitians' well-being both were very upset by the fact that these American jobs were not advertised and handed out to Haitian migrants as temporary workers.

A number of Americans that I spoke with, Ohioans, Springfield residents, they lost job opportunities.
They lost housing that they had lived in.
So you saw all manner of costs going up around town.
car insurance because so many of the Haitians did not know how to drive.
And there were accidents, including the killing of Springfield residents via Haitian drivers.
Immense destruction of property around town.
Very, very dangerous.
One of the people I'm talking to, you know, it's an eight cross from him.
He's a homeless minister who now has found himself dealing with this influx of Haitians resulting in single mothers, generally poor people, just trying to piece it together, getting cast out of their housing, basically, because the rent's going up 50 to 200% because now the Haitians can pay more because they're getting all these welfare benefits, but it's not quite enough to keep them
not from having to get a job, but then they're stuffing Haitians 20, 30, even 100 in a single house.
They're illegally charging them per person.
Per person.
