And when he was the sheriff, he was able to decrease the size of and the influence of foreign, basically the mob and the cartels in the Dayton, Ohio area.
He was pilloried in local media as an authoritarian sheriff who was overly punishing.
But of course, the reality on the ground is there's
OVOS is happening left and right.
Dayton led the nation per capita on opioid deaths.
And so the crackdown was necessary, kind of a proto-Bukele, naive Bukele of El Salvador type situation.
I would liken Sheriff Plummer's, let's say, time in office to that.
and he's able to whittle down the cartel's influence to just three, well, he's no longer the sheriff, and there's now nine active in Montgomery County.
Someone else that I spoke with who believes that they're involved in the Haitian community in Springfield as well, there was an investigator that I was speaking with who shared some things with me, but he didn't want to go any further in investigating any of those connections in Springfield.
