And she befriends a classmate named Red.
And this is when I when I started reading this, I was like, oh my God, it's gonna be like normal people, but better.
Cause like there are parallels for sure.
But the story blooms into something so rich and and satisfying.
So we meet them, we feel there's this sort of charge.
It's a friendship, it's not.
quite platonic, but it's not quite romantic.
And there's but there's just like that kind of adolescent love that you're only really capable of when you're like 18 and your hormones are all over the place.
One of the things that I love about this novel is how agile it is.
Like there's not over explanation.
Louise Kennedy trusts you to fill in the gaps of what happened off the page and it moves beautifully.
There's an evolution to this relationship that is so beautiful.
I'm always interested in depictions of addiction and fiction.

Um, and this is actually a very sensitive portrayal and and it deals with, I think, very human concerns like forgiveness and redemption and how to make peace with the dead and how to accept that people are going to fall short over and over and over in your life.
And what do you do about that?
